Sioux Line Dance has started a new intake of beginner line dancers. This class is coming along nicely. If anyone would like to come along and join in now is the time. New dancers are always welcome.
We recently had our mid year social, introducing our beginners to the fun of social dancing. We integrate the beginners by having what we call split floors. So we have the newer line dancers at the front under the guidance of their Tutor Sue Wilson. Whilst our more advanced dancers dance at the back, doing their more Intermediate dances. This works well and keeps everyone up on the floor, and allows the new dancers to see what the will be aspiring to. Our day was topped off with dinner at the Phil’s Place, the Club Bistro. This progressed on to a great night of entertainment and of course more dancing with the band Kruzin. In all a great night and many thanks to Club Waimea for such a great venue.
Line dancing is certainly a great sport to become involved with. Its good for mind, body and soul. Friendship, laughter and fun are three ingredients that help make learning easier along with the good music too.
We have dancers heading away to Timaru this coming weekend to join Galaxy Line Dancers celebrate 22 years of line dancing. This weekend will include a Workshop with Australian Tutor, Chris Watson, of Tamworth. And that’s not all…..we then hit the road and continue down to Dunedin for the Masters Games Wind Down workshop and Social weekend. The guest Tutor will be Australian Choreographer and Teacher, Jan Wyllie. Jan was recently at Club Waimea running workshops for line dancing hosted by Sioux Line Dance.
