Club Waimea News Update
12 December 2009

The Children’s Christmas Party was a huge success, with lots of happy children enjoying their special day at the club. They were entertained by Andre the magician along with a number of games and other activities throughout the afternoon with the day concluding with a visit from the big fella.

The catering operation of the club is under review with our new chef Katrina Ward coming on board next week Thanks to the guys that having been keeping the place up and running, over the last ten days or so. We have shortened the menu retaining many of the old favourites and have accordingly looked at a number of factors affecting our profitability. The options available to us were to increase prices or to look at portion size, after careful deliberation we decided that portion size would be a better option than a price rise.

Last Sunday we ran a $17 buffet at short notice which was well received by those that dined and we have decided to run another special buffet this Sunday to coincide with the Ladies promotion winner being announced.

If you do not have an entry in the ladies promotion it is still not to late to enter, ask the friendly bar staff how to enter. This is a great prize package with support from Noel Leeming, Taylor’s we love shoes, Inner Beauty, Sassys of Richmond, Fields Designer florist, Rod Clarke Jeweller, McGlashen Pharmacy, Foxy Lady and Lion Breweries.

Christmas Raffle is currently on sale with prizes worth over $3000 in value, this will be drawn on Friday 18 December 2009. Why not get a ticket now or a book, great odds with 50prizes to be won and limited 1000 tickets. At $2per ticket or a book for $10 it is better than lotto.

Entertainment this week is The Jones playing in the main bar, make a night of it by catching our courtesy coach down to the club. Next week is Christmas Karaoke with Alison and then on Sunday 20th December in the afternoon we have Matt Werner playing some easy listening music.

Club trading hours over the holiday period will be as per normal except for Christmas Eve when we will close a little earlier than normal at 10pm and we are closed Christmas Day.

Race Night is back by popular demand next Friday so we are looking for people to participate as a race horses. Please put your name on the sheet at the bar. There will be a blind auction once again with free entry.
