President’s message
This newsletter is a great tool to communicate Club news to you, but this will be the last you will receive in this format. Currently, we print 900 newsletters, posting around 180 and delivering the remainder with the of volunteers. So we get into 900 homes.
The method we are trialling for the next year is with the Waimea Weekly. Each month we will have a dedicated supplement added to this happy little paper; a captive audience of 10,000 homes/26,000 potential readers.
For those that have been supporting Club Waimea with advertising and contributions up until now — we thank you and haven’t forgotten you. You may continue to advertise with us every second month as you have been doing, or step up to monthly advertising. Club advertising rates per edition remain the same as you have been paying. So this offers exceptional value for money given the added exposure you will now receive. We will contact all existing advertisers to agree how they wish to proceed.
Club members will now receive important information on shows, entertainment, bus drivers, etc each month instead of bi-monthly — so you will be better informed! It also gives opportunities to market to potential members.
I would like to thank Anthea for the work she has done as newsletter editor and to those who have helped with posting and deliveries — well done!
To members living outside the Waimea Weekly delivery area that wish to receive the new format newsletter, can you please indicate if there is any other way that we can get the information to you? Perhaps by email or are you able to pick up your copy from the Club office? If postage is the only option, please contact us to advise and provide your correct postal address.
It has been an eventful year, with a new manager and staff, new restaurant, commissioning new gaming machines, opening of the revamped Club, garden growth and success of our sports sections. Behold, it’s Christmas again!
There’s lots of fantastic entertainment coming up, so come along, bring some friends and enjoy yourselves.
On your behalf I thank the Club staff, management, volunteers, members and the Board. Well done everyone! Thank you all and have a very happy and safe Christmas and new year.
John Hewison J.P, Club President
