It’s all new at Club Waimea and now its time to show it off. Matching the Club’s multi-million-dollar development is a new manager and new head chef who say they are excited about the up coming open day, this Sunday 3 May, and they aim to make the Club the venue of choice for hospitality in Richmond.
The redevelopment of the Club has been well publicised over the past year and a half and manager Raymond Nicholson says the task of it reaching its potential has begun. With the development now finished, the Club will open its doors to the public with a range of activities, entertainment, prizes and an official opening of the new improved Club.
The open day kicks off a 2pm with some music by Warren Fenemore before a lollie scramble and the Bays Barbershop Quartet precede the official opening at 4.30pm by Hon. Dr Nick Smith. Finger food, a golf putting competition, with a brand new putter as the prize, and a magic show will keep the whole family entertained while happy hour starts in the bar at 6pm. With Stevie K performing from 6pm to 8pm The new restaurant will be open for meals and Raymond says the day is a great opportunity to come and check out all the Club has to offer. “It has been a long process to get the Club up to the level it is currently and we are very proud of that. The Club looks great and we have so much to offer that we now want all of Richmond and the surrounding towns to know about it and show it off.”
Changes to the Club have been a new bar, meeting rooms, gaming machine room, offices, restaurant and outdoor bar area. Other activities on at the Club this Sunday are lucky draws, squash, snooker, pool, cue, golf, indoor bowls, cards and fishing.
