Jean Casserley, Susie Hopwood, Marjorie Hart and Mark Friend are shown above proudly wearing the medals they won, playing pool in the Masters Games over the weekend.

A most enjoyable day was had by all participants with the only regret being that there were too few entries to create a real tournament atmosphere.

TWILIGHT 400 – MINI GOLF, TENPIN BOWLING, SMALLBORE SHOOTING, DARTS: Monday 17, Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 & Thursday 20 October, Meet at Club Waimea 5pm

Visitors wearing Masters Games Tags will not need to sign in at the Club.

Members on target at Dart Competition

Last Saturday Club Waimea hosted the Mixed Darts Tournament. Twenty teams came from four Clubs in the Marlborough area to compete. It had been five years since Club Waimea last hosted the event. It was a social day, with players of all ages coming to compete, the youngest in their twenties right through to competitors in their eighties. Blenheim Working Men’s Club took out the top place, while locals Doug and Marie George took out third for Club Waimea and were the best overall. The day ran very smoothly, Catherine Barrett, who helped coordinate the event, said that Club Waimea did a great job at hosting.
